New Adult Patients

We welcome new patients to our practice! During your first visit, we will review your pet’s medical history and complete a full examination. From there, we will discuss any health issues, help you choose the best options for treatment, and establish a schedule for routine and preventative care.

Routine and Preventive Care

The foundation for a long and healthy life for your pet is preventative care. We recommend regular wellness exams for your pet, with more frequent visits for our young or senior patients.

Travel Certificates

Many countries require an international health certificate to be issued by a U.S. Department of Agriculture accredited veterinarian and then endorsed by the U.S. Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. Dr. Schpero is USDA accredited! If you plan to travel out of the country with your pet, please contact us.

Senior Pets

We like to see our sweet seniors more frequently as they age. Wellness visits are opportunities for us to evaluate how your pet is aging and to tweak changes in lifestyle, diet, and medications. Routine blood work and diagnostic tests also help us to flag early changes in your pet’s health and to recommend management strategies that promote joyful living for your pet. You are an important ally in your pet’s healthcare. As your senior pet ages, we are here to support you in making decisions and in ensuring that your pet is comfortable, safe, and happy.

End of Life Care

Dr. Schpero is available to answer your questions and listen to your concerns in discussing your pet’s end of life care.

Palliative Care

Your pet’s quality of life is paramount. The aim of palliative care, when possible, is to control pain for your pet, maintain mobility, and suggest modifications to your home environment if needed, to prolong your pet’s enjoyment of life. We are here to offer help.

Euthanasia

When end of life is discussed Dr. Schpero knows how important it is to have families involved and present. When the time comes, we do offer euthanasia in the office, or in the home if Dr. Schpero is available. We are committed to helping to make your beloved pet’s last moments gentle, peaceful, and humane.
